15 cult vinyls that have marked French music
Jean-Michel Jarre – Oxygène (1976)
Although purely instrumental, Oxygène has profoundly transformed music in France by democratizing synthesizers. Recorded in an improvised studio in his kitchen with then experimental machines, the record showed that electronics could be melodic and spatial. This is the birth certificate of the "French Touch", long before the time.
