On Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th April the best international popmusic event takes place again in the Jaarbeurs Utrecht, The Netherlands: the Mega Record & CD Fair. This biannual show - as always held in conjunction with the Collectors Fair - is renowned as the greatest record fair in the world by DJs, experts, collectors and fans. Over 500 exhibitors display the collected history of popmusic from the past fifty years in the shape of singles, albums, 12-inches, CDs and DVDs. As usual the programme includes live performances, signing sessions and guest deejays. The fanclubs of major rockstars are represented and there are many poprelated articles, such as posters, pictures, books and magazines.

I might be going this time, I have nothing planned at that date yet!!

would be nice to go there..... Even if I might not buy anything, but "only" to meet up with some of you ladies there :-)

EDIT: I could be presenting my Jarre Discography book "CHRONOGRAPHIE" there..... :mryellow:

Hmm not sure whether I'll go. The last fair seemed to have been not too long ago... I'll see.

Me buy. I'm a frequent visitor of your site (I do miss tracklists btw).

hmmm... the tracklist issue is a tricky one.... But it has been taken into consideration of adding this functionality. But mind you: there's close to 3000 items displayed on the site, and I could "only" add the tracklist of those items

a) I have, and
b) in case I don't have them, I will need at least a scan / picture of a part of the release where the tracklist is clearly visible.

But I try to find out a way to do this properly, maybe as alternative text when you move the mouse over a picture.....

EDIT: but the "CHRONOGRAPHIE" wouldn't be a printed version, because even now, before it's really finished, it already consists of 920 pages  ... so it would "only" be a PDF-to-CDR-version..... of course with a nice cover artwork :mryellow:

3000... omg. But you have a point and most tracklists are the same of course, so it would be a bit redundant to put the same tracklist in every item.

On the other hand, it is nice to know what tracks you can find on the 2x12" Promo of C'est La Vie (Futureshock/Hybrid), for example.

Do you store your info in a database or in flat html?

all stuff I have displayed is "only" flat HTML (a shame, I know, but I wanted to be online quickly, without struggling with database issues. Besides: I don't know anything about DB programming and maintaining)

Regarding the tracklist stuff: I have started to put a tracklist behind every single release (be it CD-S, Cassette tape single, 7 Inch, 12 Inch, 10 Inch etc) in my _Jarre.xls-file (which is for download on my website, too.... hope that helps a little....

@Clubmix: they way you displayed tracklist info in the Images section works just fine!

I do think you could leave out tracklist info in the bootlegs sections, though...

/going a bit offtopic here

hm.... Zoolook and Images just **NEEDED** to have tracklist specifications because of their truly different releases. But I wouldn't be too happy with this for the whole website, because visibility is slashed down to just 50%......

Quite agree. I won't be going this time as i've got far too many other things on between now and then, including Cirque Du Soliel at the Royal Albert Hall and the Worlds biggest magic convention in Blackpool.

Looking at that jaarbeurs poster, I think there's more than records to trade/buy. :P
